So, you'd think with what's been happening that my family might pull closer together. I mean, that's the ideal situation for this kinda thing.

You'd think I'd learned better than to rely on ideal situations in my life.

Here are a list of (some) of the events that have occurred since my grandmother's passing.

My uncle got drunk and took a swing at me (and I made sure he missed. He now hasn't said more than 10 words to me aside from a half-hearted apology when he sobered up and to say thank you and bitch about how long it takes me to answer the door from him when he gets home late at night drunk because the doorbell doesn't work properly.)

My aunt (Grace, who is diabetic and shows many classic symptoms, in my opinion, of paranoid schitzophrenia), has gone off on my mom several times now, and has taken up the position of she's sure my mom was "stealing" from grandma because my mom wouldn't produce papers proving she'd been giving grandma money to live there... because she'd already packed the papers. I -watched- my mom give grandma money, so I happen to know this is false.

My aunt (Tricia) was made executor of the will... aside from some things that seemed rather shady like she was trying to maneuver people, of which I had chosen to disbelieve as I'm trying to keep -some- measure of faith in my family, since Grace went off on my mom and called Tricia about it, Tricia has been trying to put all the fault for the argument (which was actually rather one-sided, all Grace screaming at my mom) on my mom it seems, and calling various family members and trying to spread that impression it seems... and is now supposedly unsure whether she's going to go through with buying the house so that there will be less to pay in taxes... which means Grace and my mom will be pretty screwed for a bit... except my mom is capable of getting an apartment on her own, so it'll be Grace that winds up screwed... as Tricia's position on Grace is "She's not my problem."

My mom has managed to keep a pretty level head, something I'm thankful for...although she's beginning to run out of patience with Grace constantly at her throat...

My uncle Mike who is my uncle by marriage to Tricia, poor guy, seems to be caught in the middle of a ticking time bomb as he's handling a lot of the legal matters and organizing it...

Really... I see enough political maneuvering in the world... now it seems as though it may be rearing its ugly head within my family, at the time that is least appropriate... what the fuck is wrong with my family? I'm beginning to think the best thing for the four of them (aunts, uncles, and mother) is to just buy the house, sell it, split it four ways, and tell each other to fuck off... even though I'd always hoped they'd manage to get along better than that.

Sometimes I just want to curl up into a ball and disappear.
